Kazakhstan miracle: Tour 4 Destination: Kazakhstan Duration: 4 days Places to visit: Almaty - Kaindy - Kolsai - Charyn - Kegen border
Day 1: Almaty Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, you will be met and transferred to the city tour. First to all you will visit the Green Bazaar and enjoy shopping. Then the tour will continue to one of the oldest Almaty parks as Panfilov Park where you can admire one the most beautiful wooden buildings in the world - Zenkov Cathedral. The next destination of our tour is to visit the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame and then drive to the Medeo Gorge to see the highest mountain skating rink in the world and the dam. We will visit the Kok Tobe hill where the tallest TV tower in the world is located. The tour ends with the short ride from the top of the hill to the center of the city by the famous Almaty cableway. Night is in a hotel.
Day 2: Almaty - Kaindy Today you will get a comfortable minivan to start your incredible journey to Kolsai Lakes. You you will cross over 300 km from Almaty to Saty settlement (5-6 hours). On the way you will have an opportunity to stop in a village to feel the atmosphere of a local market. You will have an opportunity to check-in at the guest house, where you can spend next two nights. In the afternoon you will get the vehicle to one of AWD local cars, such as "UAZ" or "PAZ" (Russian car models), as they are fully good to cover uneven mountain road (12 km) to Kaindy Lake. Kaindy Lake (birch lake) is located amid glorious pine forest at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level and is famous for its origin. It was formed in 1911 due to the earthquake that activated the landslide blocked the valley by the natural dam, and the water has flooded the valley. You will return to Saty settlement. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 3: Kaindy - Kolsai Kolsai Lakes are defined to be "Pearls of the Northern Tien Shan" and signify a form of three lakes. The largest lake is available for all visitors. It is the most stunning lake full of mushrooms. The water in the lakes is cold and clean. Being there you will have an opportunity to see Marals, mountain goats, wolves and even bears. On arrival to Kolsay 3 Lake and got a short instruction, you will start the trekking. The way lies on the bank of the lake and lasts with the path via the pine forest, alpine meadows along pure mountain river flowing all the way down from Kolsai 2 Lake. The total walking distance between two lakes is about 7 km and usually takes 3-3,5 hours one way. Going to an altitude rises up more than 400 m, from 1818 m above sea level at the first lake to 2250 m at the second lake. There is no group of exertion and route is reachable for healthy and trained people. In the afternoon you will walk back to Kolsai 3 Lake and driving back to Saty settlement. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Kolsai - Charyn - Kegen border In the morning we will start travel to Charyn Canyon on a comfortable car or minivan. It will take about 2 hours to reach the canyon. You will have an opportunity to visit the local museum of traditional decorative and applied arts and crafts and enjoy on a tour. Upon arrival to Charyn Canyon, you will amaze the outstanding panorama and go down stairs to the bottom of the canyon, then walk around 2 km via the labyrinth of the Castles Valley with its walls of curious shapes. You will find this area of several yurts (traditional dwellings) and a small open air café, working in the summer. Transfer to Kegen border.
