After graduating from eighth grade, he entered the Dzhambul zootehnikum, graduating with honors. In 1948, Aitmatov entered the Agricultural Institute in Frunze, who graduated in 1953. In 1952 he began to publish stories in the press in the Kyrgyz language. Upon graduation in three years he worked at the Research Institute breeding, while continuing to write and publish stories. In 1956 he entered the higher literature courses in Moscow (he graduated in 1958). In the year of graduation rates in the journal "October" was published his story "Face to Face" (translated from Kyrgyz). In the same year published his stories in the magazine "New World" and also published a novella, "Jamila," Aitmatov has brought international fame.
 In 1990-1991 - Soviet Ambassador to Luxembourg, in 1992-1994 - Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in Russia, 1995-2008 - in the Benelux countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands).
 He had 46 awards in different countries. He created 17 works. In his works put 12 films.
